The Editor’s Notes
Thank you to NC State’s College of Education for kicking off this week with a conversation about what the next 100 years in education will look like. Check out the photos by the incredible and beloved Carol Bono on Facebook. Shout out to Dean Paola Sztajn for her visionary leadership.
ICYMI, Monday took us into this incredible preschool classroom with the Task Force on Child Care and Early Education.
On Tuesday, Analisa was at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute with Speaker Destin Hall, Sen. Ralph Hise, and Rep. Ray Pickett, as legislators learn more about Boost and it’s impact on students in North Carolina. Story to follow next week.
Also on Tuesday, the State Health Plan and Teacher Advisory Council met.
On Wednesday, more than 80 state and national funders who invest in early education met in North Carolina for ECFC‘s fall meeting. It was great to celebrate Invest Early NC’s new 10-year plan with a national audience. Shout out to Amy Rhyne and Dr. Iheoma Iruka for your incredible thought leadership on North Carolina’s past and future leadership on this important issue. ICYMI, here is Rhyne’s article and here is Iruka’s article.
Ben was in Buncombe, and Chantal was in Craven, Pamlico, and Pasquotank this week, as EdNC’s statewide blitz of correctional institutes continues. That series will kick off 2027 for us.
