The Editor’s Notes
EdNC’s Hannah Vinueza McClellan will be on Charlotte Talks this morning to wrap up the school year along with Emma Braaten, director of digital learning at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at NC State University, and James Farrell, education reporter for WFAE. Here is where you can listen in.
Leaders from Western Governors University (WGU) and local leaders gathered in Raleigh this week to participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open a new 48,000-sq.-ft. office for the online nonprofit university.
And thirty years ago this week, the North Carolina General Assembly passed the Charter Schools Act of 1996, a bipartisan law to authorize public charter schools. The first opened their doors to students the following school year. EdNC will be writing more about this anniversary over the summer.
