This week is national Teacher Appreciation Week, and National Teacher Day is celebrated today — May 4, 2021. To all of our teachers, we are thankful for you every day and never more so than this year. We see you, we honor your leadership and public service, and we lift up the lasting impact you have on our students, our state, and our future.
Since the start of the pandemic, EdNC has visited teachers and faculty at 44 school districts and 29 community colleges. Your commitment to our students has made us smile big and cry hard. Lots of love for our teachers today… from the Superintendent, from the Governor, from TEACH NC.
In Greene County Schools, “Whenever a teacher has an idea, we don’t ever really shoot it down.” Patrick Miller says the superintendent’s job is to get to “yes.” Come take a look at the schools in this county with me. Along the way, messages of thanks for the educators who serve our students day in and day out, even during a pandemic, abound.
Then walk around the campus of Blue Ridge Community College with me and meet the faculty who “just kept going full throttle” throughout the pandemic.
From all of us at EdNC, thank you.
