The Editor’s Notes
Big news day. The court has confirmed that Leandro will be released today. Typically that happens mid-day between noon-2 p.m. As soon as we have the opinion, we will post it so stay tuned to EdNC.org.

For those of you on Superintendent Truitt’s leadership team, thank you for your public service, thank you for your professionalism, and thank you for working with us. During the pandemic when you stayed on the road with us, in our school visits with your team to learn more about schools in need of support and promising practices, the work to re-imagine school performance grades, your research into how to do the expansion of school choice well and the implications for public schools, the implementation of the science of reading statewide, and especially following Hurricane Helene, I am so grateful for your leadership and commitment to our students and our state.
