Molly Urquhart is the vice president and director of operations for EducationNC.
Molly grew up in Essex, Massachusetts and attended the local public elementary, middle, and high schools. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and global development.
After graduating, Molly spent three years teaching in New Orleans as part of Teach for America. In her third year, she designed and implemented a blended learning pilot program at her school.
Molly received a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2017. She started at EdNC as a policy analyst in the summer of 2017 and was the director of news and policy before transitioning to the role of vice president and director of operations.
Molly has a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University and completed the Aspen Institute’s Executive Seminar. She was a fall 2020 Higher Education Media Fellow at the Institute for Citizens & Scholars and now serves as a mentor for fellows.
Molly lives in Tarboro with her husband, Alex, and son, William.
