Today is Election Day!
High school students across North Carolina will exercise their voices today by casting ballots using the First Vote NC election simulation platform.
Sponsored by the State Employees Credit Union Foundation, EducationNC’s national award winning program offers students the opportunity to participate in an online, simulated election, authentic down to the customized ballot based on the address of the student’s school and an “I VOTED” sticker.
While many schools will hold elections today, some opted to participate in the early voting period.
Independence High School in Charlotte and Wilmington Early College High School shared their experiences on Twitter. Thank you Ms. Willett and Ms. Gray for spreading the word!

Students are experiencing what it’s like to vote today thanks to @FirstVote_NC They filled out registration forms last week so they could check in to their polling place, they waited in line to cast their ballots, and they got stickers when finished. #vote #UseYourVoice pic.twitter.com/y3auUm9ej3
