Gov. Roy Cooper will visit North Buncombe Elementary School (3:25pm) today. He will discuss the need for a significant teacher pay raise and school construction bond.
State Superintendent Mark Johnson will visit Reagan High School (9am) and Konnoak Elementary School (11:15am) today. He will tour classrooms and talk with teachers about innovative approaches to learning. He will also get to see the new Konnoak Elementary building that opened this school year.
Yesterday, the House proposed this substitute for Senate Bill 312 to provide relief to the Ocracoke School after Hurricane Dorian. It passed the House unanimously and now goes to the Senate.
The House also voted in favor of the mini-budget bill for community colleges, Senate Bill 61, which now goes to the Senate.
