The headline in this story is causing confusion. The AP published the story yesterday with the headline, “North Carolina House unlikely to proceed with education overhaul, speaker says.” This story refers to Senate Bill 90. This proposed committee substitute was filed on July 11, but it was pulled from committee.

The Governor’s state of emergency for public schools remains in effect, and the expansion of school choice — which Senator Berger says is the “largest expansion of school choice” since the introduction of vouchers a decade ago is on the table. ICYMI, here is what you need to know about the state of emergency.
