The Editor’s Notes
Tammi Sutton has been missing since Saturday when she was in Roanoke Rapids around 2pm driving a grey 2015 Nissan Pathfinder NC license plate AJJ-6170. She is beloved by so many of us #nced. My favorite moment with her was when she said to a group of policymakers, “Is it hard to educate kids in poverty? Yes! So what? Let’s do it.”
If you know anything, please call your local law enforcement. In this video, you can see Tammi and hear her voice if you don’t know her. Please share on social media. Many in the education orbit know Tammi. Let’s find her.
To her pride, we are with you.
An update from EdNC’s Alex Granados:
The State Board of Education met in a remote phone conference meeting to discuss and vote on matters related to summer school and federal COVID-19 relief yesterday.
The Board approved guidance for districts around the state when implementing a legislatively mandated summer school program to help fight learning loss associated with COVID-19.
Summer school guidance document.
The Board also approved funding categories for the portion of the latest round of federal COVID-19 funds sent to North Carolina that the State Board has discretion to spend. The total amounts to more than $248 million. More specific details on how the funding would be allocated will come later.
Here is the presentation with line items.
