The State Board of Education will meet remotely Wednesday and Thursday, March 3 and 4, for its regular monthly meeting. The agendas for this meeting and executive summaries are available online.
An important opportunity for our rural districts from our colleagues at Transcend:
Transcend is a national nonprofit that supports communities to create and spread extraordinary, equitable learning environments. Transcend has received a grant to partner with a cohort of 6-12 rural school communities from across the country to reimagine the design of school. Through this free of cost 10 month experience, the Rural Schools Collaborative, we aspire to co-create transformative learning experiences with participants while also providing design support, introductions to our research-driven tools, and opportunities to visit inspiring school models across the country. Through this experience, we will explore high impact topics like leading a community-led design process to achieve equitable results for all students, learning science, the skills and mindsets young people will need in order to thrive in and transform the 21st century, and your community’s aspirations and needs, while also providing space for schools to collaborate and exchange ideas.
If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, please click this link to learn more and start your application. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the last day to submit an application is on Friday, March 26th at 11:59 pm PST. Once you submit your application, Transcend will notify you of any potential next steps.
We hope you consider applying for this opportunity to reimagine and create a bold new vision of what’s possible for your school community. If you are not yet ready to apply, please feel free to share this opportunity with those in your network that may be excited to join.
Should you have any questions about the opportunity or the application, contact Marielle Narcisa ([email protected]) from the Transcend team to schedule an informational call.
