EdNC. Essential education news. Important stories. Your voice.

10/8/20

Today, in partnership with Public Impact, we released a new database that tracks fall reopening plans for all North Carolina districts. There are 14 indicators in five categories that the database tracks: instructional policies, learning supports, special populations, family resources, and digital access. View the database and learn how to us it here.

The State Board of Education meets today. Here’s the agenda.

Join EdNC on Thursday, October 15th at 4 p.m. for a webinar about free speech and education. A panel of academic, legal, business, education, and community experts will dig into questions about free speech that too often get ignored, resulting in confusion and a chilling effect on the kind of free expression that is vital in our democracy in general and in schools in particular.

These are the sources EdNC checks every day: The New York Times, The 74, Education Week, The NC Tribune, The Insider, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer, WUNC, WFAE, Brookings, Education Commission of the States, and DPI’s News. A cross section of diverse sources are checked weekly and monthly. If you have an article you think needs to be included, email [email protected].
