The North Carolina economy and the child care industry are inextricably linked. The NC Early Childcare Foundation is hosting a webinar today from 11-12:30 that is jam packed with all the things you need to know about early child care right now ahead of the long session. There will be an opening conversation between Muffy Grant and Dr. Iheoma Iruka, the author of this important report on child care and economic recovery across North Carolina during COVID-19. The next conversation, moderated by myFutureNC’s Cory Biggs, takes on this issue through four lenses: a community college president, a provider, economic development, and a parent. Then Senator Jim Burgin (R, District 12) and Rep. Ashton Clemmons (D, District 57) will discuss possible state government policy solutions. Here is more information about the future of North Carolina’s economy, the uneven recovery across North Carolina’s prosperity zones, and barriers to educational attainment and career success. Register here. EdNC’s Katie Dukes will be in attendance!
