4 charter schools slated for 2026 opening deemed ‘not ready,’ Charter Review Board hears

Following 2023 legislation, the Charter Schools Review Board (CSRB) has sole authority to approve or deny charter applications, renewals, and material changes.
The CSRB replaced the former Charter School Advisory Board, which made recommendations to the State Board of Education. Now, the State Board of Education can only review appeals of decisions by the CSRB.
