Mebane Rash moderates a panel of Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Award in Science and Math recipients. Molly Osborne/EducationNC

This week, Burroughs Wellcome Fund held its Biennial STEM Awardees Conference in Greensboro. Educators and leaders gathered to present their projects, network, and learn about STEM opportunities across the state.

Our own Mebane Rash moderated one of the panels, which featured five educators who have received past Burroughs Wellcome Fund STEM awards. Michelle Ellis, Claudia Walker, and Andi Webb are all teachers who have received the Career Award for Science and Mathematics Teachers. Doug Coleman and Paula Farnell received Student Science Enrichment Program awards.

The educators spoke about how the awards have impacted their lives and why they continue to work with students. Watch the video below to see them in action.
