Maria Johnson

Maria Johnson is a veteran middle school mathematics teacher in Duplin County, North Carolina, with 13 years of classroom experience in the United States and internationally. A recipient of the 2020 NC Governor’s Educator Discovery Award and an Educational Policy Fellowship Program (EPFP) Fellow, she is committed to bridging classroom experience with education policy to strengthen public schools, support rural communities, empower educators, and expand opportunities for all students.
