    The idea of using letter grades to hold schools accountable is simple minded, perhaps irrepressibly so, but it is gravely flawed.
    I have come to the sad conclusion that the best things for public schools is to leave the current scheme unchanged. When systems (schools or businesses) are doing the wrong things tweaking hides the error. Doing the wrong thing better makes things worse. The sooner we come to see the error of our ways, the sooner we can begin doing the better things.
