In March 2020, the Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) released “District Responses to COVID-19,” an online database tracking how some of the nation’s largest public school districts have shifted instruction, student support, and organizational operations in response to COVID-19 school closures. CRPE continues to update the database on a regular basis as district plans shift and evolve.
EdNC and Public Impact joined forces to create a North Carolina version of this database and provide a similar set of information to state leaders, district leaders, school leaders, educators, and the public. Researchers collected data from district websites to populate the database and surveyed district leaders to fill in information gaps and provide additional on-the-ground context for how districts and schools are responding to COVID-19.
We are now hoping to create a similar database for North Carolina’s charter schools. If you are a charter school principal, please take this survey to help us better understand your school’s response to COVID-19. All survey results will remain anonymous and will appear in aggregate unless you grant permission for your name and comments to be used per the final survey question.
