Running Towards Disaster | Ep. 4: ‘That first 24 is on us’

Voiced by Amazon Polly

Haywood County has 13 peaks above 6,000 feet, and the Pigeon River runs right through the county. This community knows the power of water.

We’ve heard it over and over again, but natural disasters we used to call “100 year storms” are happening closer together — and the people of Haywood can attest to that.

In this episode of “Running Towards Disaster,” you will hear from three emergency medical services professionals and educators at Haywood Community College who answer the call when you dial 911.

They are there before the storm, during, after, and always. They are serving their county and saving lives, while teaching others to do it, too.
