9/11 11 a.m. update on Hurricane Florence. Tom Sorrells/WKMG News 6

One year ago, Hurricane Florence was born off the coast of Africa. At the same time, millions of parents were sending their kids off to school across North Carolina, not knowing what was headed for their families and communities. This week, as a new tropical storm approaches the coast of Florida, we’re turning to you to discuss hurricane preparedness and recovery.

We’ll be covering the impact of Florence on North Carolina one year later. Our own Rupen Fofaria is out east right now asking people about how the storm impacted their communities. He will share their stories in a series starting soon.

For now, we’d love to hear from you. Please weigh in on our question of the week below!
