On May 1, some NC teachers’ plan to use a personal leave day to travel to Raleigh for a rally. The rally’s demands are:
- Increased school support staff (nurses, psychologists, etc.) to national recommended recommendations
- $15 minimum wage for all school personnel, 5% raise for educators, 5% cost of living adjustment for retirees
- Medicaid expansion
- Reinstating state retiree health benefits
- Restoring master’s pay.
