Former NC Governor Bev Perdue talks technology in the classroom

• Perdue has been working on integrating technology in North Carolina classrooms since she was Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina.
• An early effort in EdTech was creating a virtual high school in NC in the early- to mid-2000s. The effort failed, Perdue said, because poor students didn’t have connectivity.
• Since then, Perdue and others have worked hard to make the state a leader in EdTech. Perdue said it’s a bipartisan effort, and singles out Rep. Craig Horn, R-Union, in particular for his efforts on the issue.
