Perspective | Carolina Rebound virtual town hall on education

COVID-19 has turned education on its head. Parents, out of necessity, have taken a more active, in-person role in making sure their kids have continued to learn. Teachers and administrators have faced their own set of challenges with the focus on virtual teaching and their students’ varied levels of engagement. As the new school year nears, North Carolina faces big challenges — and tremendous opportunities — to ensure that all children have the best chance possible to learn and thrive in an environment that works best for them.

The John Locke Foundation’s game plan for a Carolina Rebound lays out that course. In this virtual town hall discussion, our experts will look at the future of education, how we should best serve our kids, and how we energize the teaching profession by broadening the applicant pool and rewarding effective teachers.

John Locke Foundation

The John Locke Foundation was created in 1990 as an independent, nonprofit think tank that would work “for truth, for freedom, for the future of North Carolina.”
