Marisa Bryant joins Public School Forum of North Carolina as Director of Development

The following is a press release from the Public School Forum of NC

The Public School Forum of North Carolina is pleased to welcome Marisa Bryant as its new Director of Development. This is a new role for the Forum, and Bryant will lead the organization’s efforts to coordinate fundraising opportunities and cultivate strong donor relationships.

“We are so fortunate that Marisa is joining the Forum,” said Dr. Michael D. Priddy, Interim Executive Director of the Public School Forum of NC. “I am confident that Marisa’s impressive track record of developing strong relationships within the philanthropic community and serving as an effective communicator of organizational successes to both internal and external audiences will help the Forum become stronger than ever in its efforts to champion strong public schools.”

Bryant brings a wealth of knowledge from the nonprofit sector to the Public School Forum of North Carolina, having served as an employee, volunteer and board member for many local nonprofits. Bryant has served as President of the Junior League of Raleigh, Major Gifts Coordinator for Urban Ministries of Wake County, as Membership Coordinator for Triangle Land Conservancy, and in several development roles at UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University Medical Center. She is also a trained Community Action Poverty Simulation facilitator and serves on the boards of the Alexander YMCA and SAFEchild.

Bryant’s primary responsibilities will be to coordinate and advance the Forum’s individual and corporate giving, including sponsorships for the Forum’s four signature events: Eggs and Issues, Synergy Conference, the Jay Robinson Education Leadership Awards Gala and the Color of Education Summit. She will also manage grants for the Forum.

“I am thrilled to join the team at Public School Forum,” said Bryant. “As the daughter of two NC educators, the sister of an assistant principal (and former Teaching Fellow), and the mother of two public school students, I am very passionate about making sure we invest fully in our public schools. The team and board here at the Forum is an exceptionally hardworking and brilliant group, and I am honored to work with each of them to strengthen public education in our great state,” she added.

Bryant received a BS in Political Science from Elon College and a Masters in Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. She lives in Raleigh with her husband, Josh, and their two children, Zeke and Clara.
