EdNC is a nonprofit, online, daily, independent newspaper. These guidelines apply strictly to articles categorized as part of EdNC’s Local News Partnership Initiative. For republication information on EdNC’s regular content, click here.
The goal of this initiative is to spread essential, data-driven information about education across North Carolina. EdNC will provide outlets with a statewide look at an education issue, including data and original reporting. Local outlets are encouraged to adapt these assets to suit their local information needs.
In other words, EdNC will provide you with statewide, data-driven context on an issue, and we encourage you to find a local angle for this topic. For example, you can interview local stakeholders or community members and add those perspectives to the text provided. You may also cut sections of the text provided to include your local angle, or simply add your original reporting to the text provided.
Here are some guidelines:
- Credit our team by including both the author name and EdNC.org in the byline. Example: Alex Granados, EdNC.org.
- At the bottom of the piece, please state the following with a link to EdNC.org: “This content was published in partnership with EdNC.org, an independent, nonprofit source of news, data, and analysis about education for the people of North Carolina.”
- You may use as much or as little of our copy as you wish to accompany your original reporting. However, edits to the text provided by EdNC cannot alter the meaning of the original story.
- If you republish a story, please let us know by emailing Sergio Osnaya-Prieto at sosnaya@ednc.org.
If you choose not to use the original text given, we still encourage you to use the data provided to share valuable information about education in your area. If your organization uses the data provided, please email Sergio Osnaya-Prieto and credit EdNC as outlined in the second bullet point above.
