Here’s how hope helped educators make it through this school year

Voiced by Amazon Polly

My hope is in our people. My hope is in Phoebe, who just completed a fundraiser to place anti-racist books in our county library … My hope is in the world-changers in my fourth grade classroom who are making the world better every single day … My hope is just truly in the people of North Carolina and how they’re impacting our future.

The 2020-2021 school year was filled with numerous challenges for educators. From adapting to virtual learning to the stress of the pandemic, this was a school year like no other. We spent a large part of our time this year out in the field, visiting schools all over North Carolina. We heard stories of hardship, of resilience, and of daily hope.

In partnership with the Public School Forum of North Carolina, we produced weekly moments of hope during the 2020-2021 school year and shared them on our Twitter. We talked to educators across our state and heard stories from virtual and in-person classrooms. Check out some of our best moments of hope in the video above.

Are you interested in participating in a moment of hope for the 2021-2022 school year? Do you know someone who may be interested? Please email alindenberg@ednc.org for more information.
