Monday, September 4, 2017

On this Labor Day and every day, we honor our teachers, who work tirelessly to create educational opportunities for our students, investing their time, talent, and energy in our future workforce.

The NC State Board of Education will meet this week. Here is the agenda for September 6 and September 7.

The Public School Forum of NC is seeking nominations for individuals to be highlighted on its weekly statewide TV show, Education Matters. Nominees could be principals, superintendents, teachers, teacher assistants, guidance counselors, parents, students, business leaders, community volunteers, afterschool providers, and the list goes on! To nominate someone, please fill out the form here.

The Public School Forum’s Beginning Teacher Leadership Network (BTLN) is currently recruiting teachers in Cabarrus, Carteret, Mecklenburg, Onslow, Union, and Wake counties for the 2017-18 cohort. Applications are open through September 8, 2017. To apply for the 2017-18 Beginning Teacher Leadership Network, click here.

These are the sources EdNC checks every day: The New York Times, The 74, Education Week, The NC Tribune, The Insider, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer, WUNC, WFAE, Brookings, Education Commission of the States, and DPI’s News. A cross section of diverse sources are checked weekly and monthly. If you have an article you think needs to be included, email [email protected].
