Late Friday afternoon, EdNC’s Alex Granados was named the first recipient of Education Week’s Chronister Fellowship. Alex has been with EdNC since day one, making us laugh and pushing us to do our best work. Alex’s in-depth reporting is respected across party lines in North Carolina, allowing him to develop sources and tighten the cycle between reporting the news in real time and its impact on public policy. We are excited for Alex to partner with Education Week to highlight for our state, our region, and the nation an issue that will shape our education system in the 21st century – the challenges and opportunities for migrant students.

The House and Senate convene today at noon.

These are the sources EdNC checks every day: The New York Times, Education Week, The Washington Post, The Hechinger Report, Inside Higher Ed, Education Next, Vox, Governing, NPR Ed, The News & Observer and Wake Ed Blog, The Charlotte Observer, Carolina Public Press, The Asheville Citizen-Times, The Winston-Salem Journal, The Fayetteville Observer, The Greenville Daily Reflector, Wilmington-Star News, The Hickory Daily Record, The Durham Herald-Sun, The Greensboro News & Record, The Lexington Dispatch, FOX Breaking News, WRAL, WUNC Radio, The Associated Press, State Government Radio, The Governor’s News, The Lieutenant Governor’s News, The N.C.
