Last night, the Friday Fellows celebrated our 20th anniversary. You can see my tweets here. Dr. Ed Wilson delivered the keynote address, noting that our state has no great priority than our teachers and the teaching profession. Many thanks to the Blumenthal family for its vision and support of the fellows and to our beloved Bill Friday for expecting the best of all of us. In a video taped before he passed away, Friday called on us for civility in public life, noting that his hope for the future rests with us. Many thanks to Governor Pat McCrory for honoring the Friday Fellows and awarding Philip Blumenthal the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. From my mentor Rolfe Neill to colleagues including John Hood, John Drescher, Jeff Michael, Deborah Ross, Raj Narayan, Anita Brown-Graham, Graig Meyer, Henry Foust, Trip Stallings, and many of the other 203 fellows across the state, EdNC would not be the same without your voices and support. Thank you. Mebane
