A bipartisan group of current and former state education leaders — including former State Superintendent June Atkinson; State Board of Education Chairman Eric Davis; Henry Johnson, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education and former Mississippi State Superintendent; State Superintendent Mark Johnson; former State Board of Education Chairman Phil Kirk; former State Superintendent Mike Ward —
are making an announcement concerning Florence aid for NC public schools at 10am today. I’ll be there live tweeting. Follow me on Twitter at Mebane_Rash.

The EdNC team extends our thoughts and prayers to the family of Wake County school board member Kathy Hartenstine. We appreciate her public service to our students, schools, and state.
