Happy Labor Day. My thanks to all of you who work in our schools for your public service to our students, our schools, our state. Especially this week.
I was in five schools on Wednesday in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools with Chair of the School Board Elyse Dashew, and we witnessed some truly amazing leadership. I stand in awe of our educators. You are going above and beyond. I see you and I am thankful.
I’ll have some happy ed news to share at 11:30 today — so stay tuned on Twitter @Mebane_Rash.

Join Dr. Jackson on the latest episode of the EdLeader podcast featuring Principal of the Year Elena Ashburn. Ashburn talks about the challenges we are facing and inspires educators to be brave enough to see the possibilities for education post-pandemic and to be brave enough to make it happen.
And don’t forget to check out the update to the playlist curated by Superintendent McDaris. As he says, let’s “breathe, reflect, dedicate.”
