9/27/2024

Good morning. I hope you are safe and staying as dry as you can. Our thoughts are especially with western North Carolina today. Gov. Roy Cooper will be giving an update on Hurricane Helene at 11 a.m. You can watch the livestream here.

In other news, the Center for Racial Equity in Education (CREED) is hiring a #TeachingInColor Community Regional Leader. The role is a part-time contract position, and comes with a $1,500 stipend and typically work 6-8 hours per month. Learn more and apply here.

And here is your weekend playlist, courtesy of Jeff McDaris.

These are the sources EdNC checks every day: The New York Times, The 74, Education Week, The NC Tribune, The Insider, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer, WUNC, WFAE, Brookings, Education Commission of the States, and DPI’s News.
