The Editor’s Notes

Join us in Asheville for the next DRIVE Task Force meeting! There is a networking event after school hours for educators on 9/21 and then the meeting the next day on 9/22.

The Develop a Representative and Inclusive Vision for Education (DRIVE) Task Force is made up of parents and guardians, K-12 educators, state and local government personnel, and both UNC System and community college personnel.
In 2021, the team released recommendations for how to increase the racial, ethnic, and linguistic diversity of the state’s educator workforce. Now, they want to hear from communities across the state about how they can advance that goal.
Here is your playlist for the weekend from Jeff McDaris, who week to week encourages us to take the weekends, listen to music, and breathe, reflect, and dedicate again to this work we feel called to do for our students, our state, and our future.
