We will be in Canton today. Join us.
From the town:
“The Town of Canton invites EVERYONE to come out and honor the American Millworker on Thursday, June 8th at 2:30pm and 5:00pm as the final employees (representing all workers past and present) walk through the shoot (the long entrance at the front of the mill facing Bridge Street) for the final time.
We encourage everyone in Haywood County to make signs of support and help us applaud all the workers for their dedication and years of service not only to this mill but our community. We ask everyone to tie a red, white, and blue patriotic ribbon on their trees, cars, doors, mailboxes, etc. in support for all the workers in both mill locations.
These workers have helped to instill the grit and grace that will be evident in this Milltown Strong town for generations to come. Everyone is welcome to stand on Bridge St. (which will be closed from the Lamp Factory to Newfound St.) and the section of road in front of the shoot.”
