The Editor’s Notes
The North Carolina House met on Wednesday just ahead of the start of a new fiscal year to pass several bills before taking a break in July. The House and Senate still have not come to an agreement on a compromise budget, but the House passed a bill to confirm funding for educator raises and bonuses. Rep. Donny Lambeth, R-Forsyth, said the items passed this week needed to get done, especially if the two chambers are unable to ultimately pass a compromise budget. Stay tuned.
