Gov. Josh Stein has nominated Dr. Janet Mason to serve on the N.C. State Board of Education. Mason is from Rutherford County, and she would represent the eighth educational district. Dr. Mason currently serves as the town manager of the Town of Forest City and previously served as the superintendent of Rutherford County Schools. She also serves as chair of the Rutherford County Schools Education Foundation Board.
