From the early days of EdNC, we realized part of the privilege of this work was meeting leaders and finding ways to share their voice with wider state and national offices. One of our funders challenged us to be a “force amplifier.”
I remember when Katie Dukes first called me, and with a sense of awe in her voice, she told me she had someone she wanted me to meet.
Kate Goodwin is an incredible human and leader. From Katie’s first article about Kate’s journey, to the SBA visiting Kate’s Korner to celebrate Black History Month, to learning Kate was up at the White House for a roundtable with a small group of stakeholders from around the country, it has been our very real honor to bear witness as Kate’s journey continues.
Thank you, Kate, for trusting us. Thank you, Katie, for your leadership and commitment to telling important stories.
If there is a leader in your community you want us to know, reach out to me at mrash at ednc.org.
