New from EdNC
The Editor’s Notes
This Public News Service article features EdNC’s Liz Bell and our work on the nexus of community colleges and early child care.
The State Board of Community College meets later this week. Here is the agenda. They are taking up the formation of an executive committee for the board.
As we continue to roll out our Hurricane Helene playbook, Hannah Vinueza McClellan — who serves as our faith reporter in addition to being our director of news and content —writes about the role of faith in the aftermath of the storm.
“The journalism of listening and seeing well requires time,” Pope Francis has said. “We need journalists who are willing to ‘wear out the soles of their shoes’, to get out of the newsroom, to walk around the city, to meet people, to assess the situations in which we live in our time.”
Hannah’s Helene blessing, included in our playbook, is as important today as it was when she first wrote it two months after the storm. You’ll find the blessing at the end of the article. It’s worth a read.
