The Editor’s Notes
The N.C. State Board of Education meets today. Here is the agenda.
The Board is expected to vote on a motion on the North Carolina Pathways to Excellence for Teaching Professionals Blueprint for Action. Here is the draft motion. The upshot is that there appears to be three next steps before there would be any legislative action: 1) the Superintendent will identify and report to the Board on how the Blueprint for Action aligns with the Board’s Strategic Plan and DPI’s Operation Polaris; 2) general counsel will assess the need for rule, policy, and statutory changes and report to the Board; and 3) PEPSC will make recommendations how how to field test or pilot particular aspects of the blueprint and report to the Board in March.
