New from EdNC
The Editor’s Notes
For several years now, the Thomas B. Fordham Institute has hosted an annual Wonkathon to generate conversation around key issues in education reform. This year, they’ve asked contributors to address the following question: What needs to happen next — at the state, district, and school levels — for the science of reading revolution to fulfill its promise and ensure that far more children learn to read well?
All 48 entries are now posted on the institute’s website, and they’re asking the public to vote for whom they think is 2025’s “Wisest Wonk.” The polls are now open via their online survey, which remain open until 1:00 p.m. EST on Monday, Nov. 24. First-, second-, and third-place winners will be announced in the Nov. 25 edition of the Education Gadfly Weekly.
Go vote for your favorite North Carolina wonk — Amy Rhyne or Munro Richardson!
