The N.C. Association of County Commissioners released an analysis of election results, finding Republicans hold a majority on 61 county boards, Democrats hold a majority on 37, and two are split evenly. The boards provide local funding for our schools.
Here is the October 31 report from the N.C. Controller. There is $1.1 billion in the rainy day fund and $1.47 in unappropriated general fund balance. The income tax receipts for this FY are higher because the deadline was pushed to July and sales tax receipts look good.
