Several of you have asked for an update on budget negotiations. Yesterday at the Leandro hearing, Amar Majmundar, Senior Deputy Attorney General at the NC Department of Justice, said of the budget: “Hopefully, we could say it’s a matter of weeks,” though he added: “Nothing is for certain.” When asked by Judge Lee if he was just guessing, he said: “It’s an educated guess … but I can’t say with any confidence that it will be two weeks, three weeks. But we are circling the drain.”
North Carolina students who need assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will have the opportunity to get one-on-one guidance from financial aid experts at FAFSA Day Drive-In events held at colleges and universities across the state on Saturday. Financial aid experts will be on hand at 25 locations to assist students and families with completing the FAFSA. Here is more information about when and where.
