School principals are critical to student success. A full quarter of a school’s impact on student learning can be directly attributed to the school leader. At BEST NC, we believe that top-notch preparation for school principals is one of the highest-yield investments we can make in student success and our state’s economy.
Since 2015, BEST NC has championed a nation-leading effort to transform preparation for principals in North Carolina. The state’s initial $4.5M investment in “Transforming Principal Preparation” (TP3) is now preparing more than 100 rigorously-selected and highly-trained principals to take on leadership roles in some of the state’s highest need schools this fall. At scale, the program will have the capacity to prepare every new principal in the state.
