Tanya Turner is currently serving as superintendent of Perquimans County Schools where she graduated and began her teaching career in 1992. She assumed this position in May of 2019. Prior to serving as superintendent, Turner was an assistant superintendent for 4 years in the Edenton-Chowan School system. She is entering her 30th year of education during which time she has also served as a teacher, instructional facilitator, assistant principal, principal, and director. She received her undergraduate degree from Methodist University, her MSA from East Carolina University, her Educational Specialist degree from Wingate, and most recently her doctorate in education from Wingate University.
