Mariah Morris

Mariah Morris is the 2019 Burroughs Wellcome Fund North Carolina Teacher of the Year. She proudly teaches second grade at West Pine Elementary School in Moore County where she integrates STEM into her student-centered curriculum. Morris believes in the power of the 4 C’s of 21 st century learning to transform our learning spaces across North Carolina. By integrating STEM into her classroom, Morris has been able to excite her second graders to take ownership of their learning in a real and meaningful way. As NC Teacher of the Year, Morris is spending the year traveling the state to champion for the importance of providing equitable STEM opportunities to the students of North Carolina.
