Maghan Kirschner

Maghan Kirschner has been an instructional coach with UNC-Charlotte since January of 2018 working in both Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and local charter schools. She began her journey in education as a seventh grade Social Studies teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Schools where she spent six years in the classroom serving children and communities in western and downtown Charlotte.

While in the classroom, leadership opportunities ignited her passion to expand her impact beyond her classroom walls and she was accepted into New Leaders, a leadership development program where she served as a resident principal and transitioned to an assistant principal at KIPP Charlotte Charter School. These experiences have afforded her the opportunity to coach middle school, elementary and high school subject areas ranging from literacy to math to theatre to AP classes. Her passion is working alongside beginning teachers, watching their fire for kids ignite, and seeing the incredible things they are capable of doing for our kids.
