Dr. John Dempsey has been president of Sandhills Community College since 1989. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds a master’s degree in Government from the College of William and Mary and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts. He is a Vietnam veteran, and he served in the Executive Office of the President during Jimmy Carter’s Administration.
