Jody Hassett Sanchez
Jody Hassett Sanchez is the president of Pointy Shoe Productions, a documentary film and television production company. She previously covered education for ABC’s “World News Tonight” and “Nightline,” traveled the globe as CNN’s State Department producer. She was senior producer of CNN’s Cold War Postscript, a 24-part series that examined Cold War legacies. She was also part of the CNN team that won a national Emmy award for breaking news coverage of the Oklahoma City bombing and the ABC team that won a national Emmy for 9/11 coverage.
In 2009, Jody created the Africa Film Project, which identifies and supports the next generation of African storytellers who are sparking social change through short documentary films. To date, the program has trained filmmakers from 14 countries.
