James E. Bartlett
James E. Bartlett, II, Ph.D., has been a faculty member at North Carolina State University since 2007, where he serves as the Director of Academic Programs for the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research and the Director of the Community College Leadership doctoral cohorts.
James has served as a faculty member at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a research associate for the Office of Community College Research and Leadership and the National Center for Career and Technical Education. James leads the Postsecondary Career and Technical Education Research Fellows program funded by the EMCF Foundation. Dr. Bartlett has over 20 years of experience in postsecondary career and technical education and has chaired over 60 dissertations. He has served as a principle or co-principle investigator on over 13 million dollars of funded research.
He teaches courses in workforce and talent development, improvement science, design thinking, and research methods. Bartlett holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business education and a Ph.D. in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development from Louisiana State University.
