His nonfiction includes one of the first treatments of continuous quality improvement principles applied to education, which he completely revised and updated in 2016 — Quality Education: Why It Matters, and How to Structure the System to Sustain It. In addition, he is the only person to have commanded an Air Force satellite tracking station, written speeches for Presidential appointees, and had music on The Dr. Demento Show.
