Ellie Herman writes an award-winning blog, Gatsby In L.A. Ellie was a writer/producer for many TV shows before teaching for five years at a charter school in a very high-poverty neighborhood in South Los Angeles. She attended public schools in Winnetka, Illinois from kindergarten through high school and now is a writing teacher at a nonprofit working with motivated students from low-income families.
